Workers will perform assigned duties as described in this clearance order and as instructed by their supervisors. Corn Harvest (Pulling): Workers will be transported to fields that are ready for harvest. Workers will line up in their assigned corn rows. Workers will bend at the waist to each corn stalk and manually snap off the ears of corn. After snapping off the ears, workers will inspect the ears and toss them onto tables on a harvesting machine that moves behind them as the workers advance through the rows. Daily harvest orders may vary. Specifications may change depending on whether the order requires first ears, secondary ears, or other quality criteria. Workers must follow all instructions and meet established company quality standards. Workers will receive a five (5)-day acclimatization period. This period allows workers to adjust to the work pace, quality standards, and productivity expectations. Workers will not be terminated or disciplined solely for failing to meet productivity standards during this acclimatization period. Under normal field, weather, and crop conditions, and in order to keep pace with harvesting machinery, workers must harvest a minimum of fifty (50) boxes of corn per hour. Workers must meet this standard by the end of the acclimatization period. Tray Pack (Field Packing) Workers will be assigned to rows to pack four (4) to six (6) ears of corn per approved packing tray, including Styrofoam or other employer-approved trays. After the acclimatization period, workers must pack a minimum of eighty (80) corn trays per hour under normal field and crop conditions.All packing activities will be performed in the field and are incidental to the primary corn harvesting operations Incidental Equipment Assistance: Workers may occasionally assist with the positioning of equipment or movement of harvested vegetables and/or bins within the farm premises. If workers are assigned to operate farm tractors or forklifts, such operation will be limited to routine on-farm activities, performed only after employer-provided training, under employer supervision, and only if permitted by applicable safety requirements. Such operation is incidental to the primary agricultural duties and does not constitute a primary job duty. No prior experience operating tractors or forklifts is required. General Farm Maintenance and Other Activities: When primary planting or harvesting work is temporarily unavailable due to weather conditions, crop conditions, operational needs, or other lawful business reasons, workers may perform agricultural work that is incidental to and in conjunction with the primary duties listed in this job order. These duties will not replace or substantially reduce the availability of primary agricultural work. Incidental duties may include general manual cleanup of the worksite and agricultural structures; weeding, trimming, digging, cutting, topping, and removing weeds, vines, debris, and trash from fields and fence lines by hand or using basic hand tools; and the routine manual installation, repositioning, flushing, connecting, disconnecting, and removal of plastic mulch, irrigation drip tape, and micro-jets under direct supervisor direction. Field sanitation activities may include cleaning, disinfecting, and performing routine upkeep of harvest buckets, bins, trailers, hand tools, and similar agricultural equipment. Workers may also assist with washing and removing dirt and plant residue from farm vehicles, harvest trailers, bins, and equipment.

This type of work, involves working conditions that require tremendous stamina, a high level of physical activity in cold or extremely hot conditions in direct sunlight and in adverse weather such as rain. The work requires a high level of physical conditioning.

Prior to referral, each worker should either read or have read to them a copy of the Job Offer and they understand all the terms and conditions of employment as noted in the order. All workers should also be advised that they will be expected to work for the total period of employment as noted in the Job Offer and should be available to work the offered hours in any one of the listed activities at the discretion of the employer. The employer may offer the worker more than the specified hours of work on a single workday but the worker will not be required to work for more than the number of hours specified in the job order for a workday, or on the worker's Sabbath or Federal holidays.
